The gloomy economic climate of 2007-2008 has led to the current economic misgivings across the globe. Beyond the shore of Britain and across to the United States of America, the new administration of President Barrack Obama have launched an economic recovery package worth $750billion to stimulate the economy. In Britain and across Europe, several economic plans are now in place to revive and strengthen the national economy. However, the micro economic units known as households are feeling the impact in the shape of credit crunch. This article provides a clear basis to understand the credit crunch phenomenon and suggests solutions to minimize the impact of a reduction in the availability of credit finance.
